Congratulations to Michiko Kato -- Woven Capital’s newest Partner!

Michiko was our first hire and since day one she has been instrumental in building Woven Capital. Her passion for forging connections with category leaders across mobility and venture has been outstanding.

Michiko’s keen ability to build relationships with some of the most exciting entrepreneurs in our space has led to key investments in Nuro, Ridecell and WHILL. She has also made significant contributions to our fund-of-fund investments, expanding our exposure to a diverse range of investment opportunities.

As a board observer for Nuro, Ridecell and WHILL, Michiko is a proactive partner helping management with thoughtful strategic counsel to navigate complex financial and operational issues.

Michiko has a wide range of operational experience to draw on, including serving as CFO and board member for ABEJA, an AI startup based in Japan. She previously worked at several global investment firms including Unison Capital, where she supported private equity investments in consumer services and healthcare.

Beyond her professional achievements, Michiko’s unwavering commitment to diversity and mentorship is an inspiration to us all. Serving as a bridge between Japan and our global colleagues, she plays an essential role in advocating for our portfolios and supporting collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation.
